I think I am close to that now. I have a few things to try with the bass. I've always tried to get away with just one bass track in my mixes.
I am going to work a DI in as a second track to keep the fat part of the tone while enhancing the high's a bit.

The GreenMystedEnvy bass tone was done with my usual bass tone but I added the Protone attack and cranked up the Tone knob a bit.

In any case, this pedal is very similar to the SANSAMP Tech 21 pedal.

But the thing with Bass, is unless you playing JAZZ the tones you hear these guys get don't sit well in the mix. You have to crank the distortion a bit to get it to sit, not get muddy and bring out the mids/highs.

Totally frustrating.
