An artist can own their name and NOT have it used on a preset. But Sweetwater can't "own" a preset in any legal sense.

But anybody can bring a frivolous lawsuit against anyone for any reason. And this is typically why small time bloggers run into trouble versus corporate news blogs. One is larger and can't be as easily harassed as the individual against such frivolous court claims.

The POINT of AVID creating the Eleven Rack was to SHARE presets and NOT own or charge for them!! Line 6 does this for the POD.

Sweetwater, in the attempt to create an exclusive package for only their customers, is working AGAINST the intent of the creator of this product!

It's like someone using Wiki pages to create content but then only allowing access to those who pay them!!

In sharing Sweetwater presets, you are being ETHICAL. It is Sweetwater that is being highly unethical in their attempt to squash sharing.

Besides, the second YOU tweak a Sweetwater preset, quess what? It becomes YOUR preset!!

Because ALL Sweetwater tweeks come from AVID's intellectual property as their base.
