I've been eyeballing this unit. Is this unit anywhere close to the Helix? I've been on the fence about buying the Helix, or an Axe FX. I'm trying to spend the least amount of money possible to get the best sound possible. I know that's an oxymoron, but that's what I'm looking for: the best bang for the buck.
Haven't heard the unit, but I think the concept of low cost units producing professional sounds is totally achievable, more-so now than ever before..
But, I have said this in older posts, if you haven't checked out the EPSi IR box (loaded with Ownhammer IRs) run in the effects loop of the 11R you really should. Really turns the 11R into a professional rig. PM me if you end up going that route.
At some point gear we buy stops becoming 'better' and just becomes 'different', it is then about finding the right flavor (which can take a lifetime on its own)..
Briz, I have to agree with Downrazor11. The EPSi with Ownhammer IRs is a big step up in tone. Putting another $200.00 into your 11 Rack may be the most economical thing you can do to make your great tone even greater.
It should. I don't know much about the Pod HD or Pro X, but the EPSi is a stomp pedal that goes in your effects loop. As long as there is an effects loop and you can turn off the cab simulation, it will work. Just make sure the effects loop is at the end of the chain.
Helix LT same processors as Helix but less I/O options and no scrible stips and same price as Headrush $999.00 us... Same presets as helix floor and rack same tones just a chopped down version to make it less expencive and was all ready on the table when helix was announced so it aint like they wipped it up just to compete with the Headrush...
I was going to snagg a Headrush and check it out the send it back if I didn't like it but then I saw the Variax Shuriken and that is my next piece of gear! Who knows I still might just grab one to check it out down the road... It dose look very cool!
