Hey all. I don't post too much, only if have something to add to the forum, so here it is.
I decided to try my old ada mp-1 in the loop of eleven rack and holy crap it sounds damn good! So much more clarity and presence and the break up tones are great.
I'm sure it has been covered before but just wanted to add.
Here how I connected the ada.
Guitar>>11r input>>11r Left loop send(set on rack)>>ADA mp-1 input>>Ada Output A>>11r left loop return.
The 11r Cab ir's and effects interact perfectly with the ADA.
The Tubescreamer in the front of the chain, mod/delays after the ada. You know. Loop settings Send 0.0db Return 0.0 Mix 100%. I am going to throw my Digitech gsp 2101 in there next. I'll try and get some clips posted, when I can. Merry x-mas! Oh I also read another guy doing this with an Egnater M4, with similar results. Now I want an M4 really bad, lol. Sounds like it would through a tube power amp, through my headphones,(sennheiser hd280 pro).

I'd like to hear that, I had some fun with tube preamps in the loop when I first got my Eleven Rack. I mostly just got it for the cab emulation and FX, but learned to like it for what it is.

I'm still curious about using tube preamps in the loop with the EPSi loader for loading Ownhammer and Rosen Digital cabinet IRs. So many things to try these days.

The ADA-MP1 is one of those I was lucky enough to be able to play around with when it was brand new, and it sounded exactly like the Nuno Bettencourt sound he was using on Pornograffiti (completely dry even).

Hey TL, I have had one off and on, since they came out too and they still do the 80's better than anything, lol. I made a preset that is pretty close and working on another, to match, for lesser gain stuff. I'll post it when I get a chance. The clarity is doable, with the 11r, it was just a surprise and made my other presets seem blanket sounding. I'm fixing that!

I made nice tone with Hughes & Kettner Access preamp (old tube preamp) in FX loop too. Only one thing is not so nice. IR in 11R are made (for my ears) for "complete" amp (means preamp + power amp) and they don't fit perfect for preamp only. I made nicer tone with external IR (in PC).

Well I think "the problem" with Eleven Rack cabinets are that the IRs were made with tube power amps. It's turning out that it's better to make IRs with solid state power amps because the digital world/cabinet IRs just translate the highs of tube power amps to consistant and unwanted noises instead of fluctuating. Ownhammer IRs started off with the same idea, and tried post EQing a first, then included several types of power amp choices, and eventually stuck with just using solid state power amps.

With the Logidy EPSi IR loader, you can use any IR in realtime and IRs are better than ever these days.

My favorite IR right now (and my son's) is another from the Marshall Modern Studio IRs, sure enough it is labeled OwnHammer_412_MAR-CB_V30-CH_SS_SP (SS=Solid State).

They just have this analog color that's really nice and they feel better to play with in real time and reamp nicely/fit the mixes really good and translate well to all kinds of consumer listening speakers/headphones/etc.
