So this is what happens when you get an 11R and two days later your pastor tells you he wants some help on Sunday mornings

You drag out every guitar you have looking for an "Appropriate" tone.

Can't go wrong with a strat. Eleven Rack loves the single coil pickups (or coil tapped).

That's an old Squier that I modded the snot out of about 10 years ago and just never have played a whole lot. it's got old Seymour Duncan Hot LiveWires in it and they are hot indeed. A bit too hot if you want truly legit strat tones. Surprisingly when I pulled it out today I rather liked how it sounded thru the 11R.

Is it the 11R? A more discerning ear? Who knows?

Ooooooooooooo Coil taps! The 7 string is wired for taps on both pickups. I wonder how well a tapped Nazgul/Sentient combo would sound at church? <evil grin>

That's the Beauty of the 11R. You can get just about any tone from it you want. Which guitar you use is all a matter of preference.

Sure is nice to have a problem like that.
We sure are blessed to be at a time and place in the world where stuff like this is possible. There are no wrong decisions when the questions are like this.
