My son's been using my guitar for lead stuff, I got a new IR I'm about to post where I captured his lead sound in an IR with the reverb tail so you can use another reverb. That's kinda where I'm at is just trying to get some better effects sounds & you can get a good long reverb tail capture and play it through the EPSi, as I just discovered.

I do have one that is really good and I didn't realize it until my son and pretty much everyone that comes over to record listening through the Soundfreaq speakers' flat setting like now...

They all prefer an older version of a multcabinet IR I made and I do too now. It sounds good dry with no EQs or anything really. It's not "perfectly balanced" but it makes it what it is that way & is very dynamic with a lot of depth. I think I messed up trying to balance IRs in headphones before when you really need the full character of the original power amps, cabs, and mics at captured level.

I'm gonna post that one here & make a new thread for the reverb one.

Let me know what you think. I've heard it through three guitars, and one with Blackout pickups was really cool sounding, but I like them all so far especially just for dry & heavy rhythms.

Colton recorded this this week, a great instrumental with that IR on the rhtyhms and Eleven Rack cabs on the leads (with the Ibanez TS9...I think maybe he used that on all the tracks, it has a nice attack and curves the tone nicely).

ok, so what about doing a tonematch using a pc and making that into a IR to load into the Epsi?

I just looked into Tone Matching (yet again). Seems like the biggest requirement is for a good Match EQ tool. Like Izotope's Ozone 6. Unfortunately for me, I'm still running Pro Tools 8. So I guess I would need to upgrade to 10. Is this even available anymore? Then I could buy Ozone 6. So in total I guess this would cost me $400-500. Not sure its worth it......
