SO the Engl cabs sounded like crapola.... Specially in the mix.

I did find a new set of impulses that I liked. Based off the Scumback M75. DIfferent IRs on each rhy track.

Let me know what you guys think..

the Guitar Sounds kinda way far away compared to your last post, for lack of a better description, but I do like the song and the tone. I guess I mean to say the rhythm guitar sits in back in the mix, not so much "out front" it seems to give it a different character.

I listened to it again and the tone is a lot darker than my usual stuff. Ill mess with it tomorrow. I like the depth it has but im not to happy with the overall tone

what i've personally settled into is recording with a darker tone that feels more natural, than eq it or add BBE for mixdown. playing with a preset that fits perfect into the mix usually doesn't feel as natural.

I agree, I wasn't saying it was bad just different. I like it as it has it own "mood". Might be a good opener for a tune.

ITs all good - most of everything I do is experimental anyway. Keeps the creative juices flowing. wink

Sounds nice & tubey. There is something in the Scumbacks that has more depth than a lot of impulses.

Yeah I'm having a time with the ENGL cabs in mix for rhythms so far (just from using some of the 8 ohm ones). Kinda one dimensional. There's one in the 16 ohm that is GREAT for neck pickup solos & I've wanted something for that for a long time & haven't quite found that Yngwie kinda sound on the 11R until now. I've yet to make a preset JUST for these, got some time off coming up & will be back into the game again.
