I've received an invitation for the Bias Explorer program but since I don't really use my iMac (I'm set up for PC-based audio) I haven't yet downloaded it. I may do so, though, just to try it out. If I do I'll let you know what I think.

Ha ha... in that case I guess I'll have to try it so as not to waste the opportunity.

Christopher, I see no reason why you couldn't use Surface Pro 2 or 3 to gig, especially the 3, pricey though it is. There's some real power in those tablets.

For the foreseeable future, though, I'm going to stick with JamUp on the iPads. It sounds absolutely killer.

Today I bought an Alto TS-110A for multiple uses... monitor for band use, P.A. speaker for cocktails, and as an amp substitute for if / when I gig with a live drummer. It was surprisingly loud & punchy and sounded very good with JamUp running through it. I really have to stop buying things...

Well i think ou can easily run some good plugins into a surface pro standard wich is still an i5 processor but not that pricey,it goes for less than an ipad here smile

I say 'go for it!' I'd be interested to know how it goes.

The Surface Pro runs on Windows 8.1, so any software made for that OS would work. Positive Grid have a Bias VST coming (hopefully standalone on Win8, too). You could run Overloud TH-2 (which is great), the full desktop version of Amplitube (which sounds about a million times better than the crap iOS version), Guitar Rig, Kuassa... or anything else that would run on a desktop PC.

It's sort of a best-of-both-worlds situation. The convenience and portability of a tablet, the power of a high-end laptop, even desktop computer.
