This is one of the most amazing solos I've ever heard--the tone is so brilliant:by Adrian Belew of Talking Heads

Please, please, does anyone know if there's a preset that's been made that that sounds like this???
Check the link for the song, the solo is at 1 min 54 seconds and at 5 min 29 seconds
The Great Curve Talking Heads--for the Solo--need this tone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW1IqW6kNdU

I've been dieing to replicate his tone, but just can't get close!

Cool thanks so much.

It sounds like there might be a noise gate on there too, because there's no feedback. It gets super tight between phrases.

When you make effects do you make them on your lap top in pro-tools or do you use the 11rack on its own?

this is just a basic start. you will need a harmonizer, a strat, and some feedback from standing close to a speaker to work this lead out. you will also need to set up a CC pedal to control the reverb mix, he gets more mix wetness and the end of some licks.

if you are not familiar with his technique, you need to learn his elephant talk for a start:

watch this video, it shows him in his prime doing all kinds of sounds/noises: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLQhLcKyGs8
