After lurking for a while, and hanging around the DUC for a long while I have finally traded up from my Pod Pro to an Eleven Rack, i'd been reading about the SW presets on their site and was surprised to find they weren't available. I then found this old(ish) thread, so if anyone has the zip that they are willing to share, i'd be very grateful.
Sorry my first post here is asking for something ?!!!??!!??

Most of the SW patches aren't that great IMO. Just get the Steve Stevens, Satch and Hiland ones. Their may be a few more good ones i'm not aware of as i haven't owned a 11R for almost a year now. VSA makes great patches, as well as a few other members

Paying for patches is so stupid. So much depend of the signl before the amp ( guitar, pick, fingers...) i downloaded a vsa preset once and it sounded awful with me and wonderful with him... And i am sure my own patches sound awful with other guys...

I can attest that when I play with VSA's or your patches...you both sound a LOT better than I do smile Now, maybe if I could attend your upcoming workshop and practice for a few years smile

I agree with different signals affecting tones of patches. Think a lot has to do with the guitar the original preset was designed with. Playing a Les Paul with a patch designed for a strat is usually going to yield not the same results

I don't think it worths paying for other peopleĀ“s presets. As many of you say, those presets were built by using very different guitars, amps, monitors, etc. They will sound great with the rig they were created... but not with the one you have at home.
The only interest I find in those presets is the way they were built, as a source of tips and ideas to create my own presets smile .

your right ...thats where the magic is in the way they were set up. I own a Axe Fx and i'm not one that reads anything, so i learn as I go. Not a good situation when it comes to these modelers. The Axe is much more in debt as instead of say 8 parameters for say an amp model, the axe has up to say 40 different adjustments. Combine that with shunts, spaces between boxes in your chain, and its real easy to see why it can be very intimidating, with an Axe FX especially. But thats why i say the magic is in the setup. I have an Eric Johnson patch on my Axe Fx that off the top of my head, has 2 reverbs - 3 Delays -Compressor - 2 different amps and cabs and chorus if i remember right. The delays are all set up with different times. One might be 601 ms - next 255 ms etc....Anyway, the patch rocks. You could solo all day on that one patch.
