Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/23/12 10:24 AM

Hi! My name is Rafael, and I`m from Spain.
I recently won a 11 Rack in a guitar contest, and I'm trying to get some cool melodies and warm sounds. I am very happy with this unit: sounds incredible! I have a GT-Pro by Boss but I'll sell it as soon as possible.
This is the first video I have made with 11 Rack. I hope you like it!

See you soon! Cheers.

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/24/12 09:35 AM

Thanks to all!
Im trying to save my presets with Protools, but can not find the way. Since I installed the new 11R firmware (with the Expansion Pack), the eleven Rack window does not appear in Protools LE 8.03.
Does anyone have any idea why this could happen? Anyway, you can copy the settings from the pictures in the video.
Greetings!

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/24/12 11:34 AM

Open Pro Tools, Go across the top to where it say "windows" and when the menu drops down it should have eleven rack at the bottom and you can bring up the UI for the rack there.

Once the window is open go to the save drop down in the eleven rack UI and it gives you an option to save to the 11 rack or the computer(for back ups).

Hope that answers the questions.

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/24/12 11:55 AM

I could access the UI in the "windows" menu before updating the Eleven Rack with "Expansion Pack". Now, the "windows" menu doesn`t show any Eleven Rack option. It has disappeared. The problem is that I can`t actualize to Pro Tools 10, because I haven`t got an Ilook account. I`ll try re-install ProTools 8. Anyway, thank you very much!

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/24/12 07:49 PM

Nice start! You are going to be a major player around here! Will have to check out that contest if you have footage. Don't give up on the search for great overdriven sounds, we've been working on a lot of presets with some ingenuity, research, collaboration, and luck. There are no rules for dialing up a sound around here, we'll get it for you hell or high water. Well, Singtall will first probably. He's "he guy" that will get you there ASAP. I like to modify a lot of his presets and come up with sounds for my own guitars (Peavey Wolfgang & Schecter Gryphon w/Duncan Dist. Bridge & JB Neck).

Easy to find the "latest" presets here: HERE

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/24/12 08:38 PM

Thank you TLTD!
I will try to upload all the presets I can. It will be a pleasure.
This is the solo that I recorded for the contest in wich I won the Eleven Rack.

I recorded it with my GT-Pro and my "cheap but amazing" SX tely.
Now I ONLY use Eleven Rack for recording, and the SX of course: they both sound amazing!

See you soon.

EDIT: I just remember that I recorded a video a few weeks ago with another Eleven Rack preset.
This was my first recording with the Eleven Rack.
It was for another contest (unfortunately I did not win this).
I hope you like it!

Those both sound great! I can see where the Eleven Rack has that certain something come out for you. I hope you didn't think I was saying you need tone help, was just going by some Youtube comment. Great stuff! Definitely looking forward to the presets. I'm actually back to having Telecaster GAS again! I've wanted one for so long, but haven't heard enough Eleven Rack demos that blew me away yet. I want to get the Chopper T bridge & Tang King neck, that what you got? Sounds like it! NICE!

Another video with my awesome Eleven Rack:

White Boost + Rb-01b Blue Amp + 4x12" Green 20w Cab + Ribbon 121 Mic + Medium Room SR Reverb.
Maybe a little bit "shrill tone", but the bridge pickup of my SX tele gives me very high tones, and I haven't enough time in this recording to turn down the tone pot at the same time that I change the pickup selector and play the notes... Too busy!
For the neck pick up, it sounds amazing.
Thank you for watching! wink

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 07/29/12 06:26 PM

Thank you Mike! I'm glad you like it.

The past night I was testing some Joyo chinesse pedals with the Eleven Rack. I use my SX FTL-50 Telecaster guitar, a quick preset with a clean JCM800 simulation and I added the "Sweet Baby" for the riff and the "Vintage Overdrive" for the solo. All is improvising, so the bass, the clean guitar and the drums are constantly repeating in a bucle. Too many mistakes, no mix. Rec and play. I hope you like it!

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 02/06/13 09:28 AM

Hi guys!

Yesterday I was recording some guitars for a new song. I was searching new tones, and I found my new favourite amp sim: MS-30!!
I always use a JCM 800, 4x12"V30 and Ribbon Mic off axis simulations, but I'm really impresed with the MS-30 (Matchless DC30), 2x12" B30 (Bogner) and Cond U67 (Neumann) on axis. It sounds really organic and crispy. The Higher frecuencies sound natural and clear. I love it!

This is a short example, with the "Sweet Baby Overdrive" pedal by Joyo:

Hi!!
This is a new full track with the Eleven Rack. I recorded some acoustic parts with a Shure SM137 mic and the Mic Input Pre on the 11R. All the electric guitars, clean and overdrive, were recorded with the same preset (JCM800 Sim) and differents volume pot settings on the guitar (SX FTL-50).

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 07/05/13 10:52 AM

Fantastic song! The arrangement, playing and tones are all top notch - congrats on winning the contest. I wouldn't have guessed that you used the same preset for all parts. How long does it take you to put a song like this together?
Posted by: Guitarrilia

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 07/05/13 12:34 PM

Thank you noguud!

Yes, it's the same preset. I love the Eleven Rack because you can change the character of your sound by changing the dinamyc on the guitar, just like a real amp. It's really cool.

I composed, recorded and finished the song in three days. I was playing my acoustic guitar for a Shure SM137 condenser mic test. I played some chords at 6/4 tempo and I liked. I decided to make a song with this parts and add some vocal parts. But I'm not a good singer, so I finally recorded the guitar instead the vocal, just two hours before the time limit.

Here is the video (photo-slide). I'm sorry, but I had no time for recording my playing the guitar on video.

Hi Guitarrilia,

I'm really impressed with your demos and tracks that you put out. You seem to be a fan of the Joyo Vintage and Sweet Baby pedals. Can you give some feedback on them? Do you feel they are giving you better tones than you can get with the Eleven Rack stand-alone? With more tweaking could you get there with just the Eleven Rack? When I use the distortion blocks in the Eleven Rack I tend to use the Rat & Tube Screamer models, but I really like what I'm hearing from your Sweet Baby demos.

Thanks!

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 12/31/13 11:37 AM

Hi noguud!
Thank you for you comment. wink
In my opinion, "Vintage Overdrive" and "Sweet Baby Overdrive" are both fantastic pedals, but if you also consider the price, are really really great pedals!
"Vintage Overdrive" is amazing for rythm overdrive guitar. It has like a hi-pass filter, so the bass are light, not boomy, but highs are creammy combined with the natural overdrive form the amp.
"Sweet Baby Overdrive" has a mid-high crispy tone, but it preserves the bass. Also it responds very well to the dynamics so it's perfect for light overdrive solos with single coil pickups.
An external pedal gives a fat response, more natural attack and more sustain in comparation with the sim pedal. I have recorded a demo with the same adjustment controls in both pedals, Joyo and eleven Rack Sim. You can see what pedal I've used in the comments.

http://soundcloud.com/guitarrilia/vintage-overdrive-vs-green-jrc

Maybe you couldn't note the difference because I've used a high gain amp sim, but it's clear with mid gain tones.

See you. wink

I'm sure others would love hearing them, but they seem to be lost in this 'Eleven Rack on YouTube' part of the forum.

I recorded a new video. I use my brand new ART Sla 2 and a pair of 12" Beyma 12GA50 speakers.
This time the audio quality is really bad, because I recorded it with my phone. But my porpose is to share how I control the Eleven Rack.
The Peak FCB8N is my main MIDI Footcontroller and I use a Boss FV500H as an expression pedal for wah and volume control. This pedalboard allows me to create a lot of combinations in real time. I only need one MIDI cable (phantom powered) on stage and is a really light, small and powerful equipment.
You can see what I use for each switch and patch in the annotations.
I hope you like it.

It's very easy and quick to assemble at each performance and sounds really good. I connect the 11R to mix console (via Line Outputs) the most of the time. But for small gigs without a good monitor system and sound technician, I connect it to the ART Sla 2 and the 2x12 speakers and it gives me all I need.

I WANT THIS PRESET...PLEEEASE!! wink

edit: I just realized soundcloud is playing other soundcloud bits from you automatically after the rock one. There is a series of clean arpeggios where you are varying the fx - did you also do this with the 11R?

edit edit: I was just thinking: would you consider putting together a set of your presets and offering them for sale? Something like a "superpack for non-hardrockers"? wink I would immediately buy it, and I'm sure many others would, too.

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 06/10/14 06:33 PM

Thank you noguud!
Lead800 is by far my favorite sim! It sounds really nice for all kinds of playing or styles.

Thank you Markus!
I'll share this preset on this forum the next weeks, with a video explanation about how I use it to get cleaa and hi-gain tones.

Yes, those "clean arpegios" sounds were recorded with my SX FTL-50, the Eleven Rack and differents delay times.

Mmm... I'm thinking about make this "superpack" for sale, yes. I have a lot of petitions in my email, facebook and Youtube channel. It could be a great idea. wink

Last weekend I was recording some stuff for a band in the studio with my brother's Fender Jazz Bass Deluxe. Yesterday, I could not resist the temptation and this is what I did:

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 06/10/14 11:33 PM

Wooh, another nice track. I would immediately buy your "Superpack" and I'm sure many others would do, too. I am more of a "conservative" sound guy, so a lot of the high gain and metal presets are not my cup of tea. Plus I play a strat most of the times and your presets sound like they could work for me as well (unlike most others).
So, please go for it! If you need help setting up a website to sell it, let me know (I am a freelance web designer).

You need to sell a superpack of your skills as well! LOL. Always really enjoy your playing - your choice of notes and phrasing is excellent and if you were local I'd be bugging you for lessons on playing, as well as 11R tones. laugh

As usual, I really dig your stuff. I like the constant building up you do from 0:22 to 1:28 in this song. Really nice work with the song, playing, and tones.

Something I noticed on the lead tone you have - really noticeable to me from 1:28 on - not sure how to describe it. Seems like an "whip" sound on your picking, on the initial transient. Is that an effect (reverb or wah or flange or something?) Not sure if it is just your picking and how it comes through the amp/cab/reverb models, or if you did something to get that.

whe "whip" u talk about is probably related to the incremented gain he uses in that part, the pick he uses and mostly the picking style he have smile

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 08/19/14 11:17 AM

Thank you!
The "whip" sound comes from the attack with the pick. I use Jim Dunlop Jazz III picks. This sound is very noticeable when I select the neck pickup and I attack the strings very strongly because the Jazz III picks are really hard. This helps me to define the fast notes because the neck pickups has a rather dark tone. When I select bridge pickup I don't attack so hard, but I do it when I play lower strings.

I've made a video with the settings of the last track.

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 08/28/14 10:58 PM

It's really hard to get clean and warm tones with some amp simulations of the Eleven Rack. The Black Duo Amp is one of these. I like the clean tone of my Super Reverb Silverface "Real" Amp, and I tried several times to get that tone with the 11R.

If you set the volume at 5, the sound is really clean, yes, but it hasn't the low-end and the fat body that makes these amps great.
If you raise the 8, the sounds comes overdrived and undefined.
I tried with differents cabinets, mic, Eqs, Compresion... and after spending some hours tweaking and comparing with the sound of my real amp, I think I finally got it!
This is me noodling with my SX Guitar and the new patch.

All the guitars were recorded with the same preset.
The solo guitar has a bit of White Boost.

P.S.: I shared the preset of the lastest video here as "Tokai Soldano".

Sounds very nice - but a little too bright for my taste. Anyway, I think this could easily be tweaked. Are you willing to share the preset?

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 08/29/14 09:25 AM

I want to test this preset with my band this weekend in a live show direct to PA. I'll share it here the next week.

Great song and playing as usual. How did you pan them? Are they all 100% left and right?
Posted by: Guitarrilia

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 10/14/14 04:31 PM

Thank you! Two tracks are 100% left and right and "V" eq. The other two tracks are 70% panned with 140 Hz hi pass filter only.

This is the video with the settings of my Bogner XTC preset.

There are a couple of screenshots with the EQ and pan adjustments for the quadtracking recording technique that I use with this patch.

See you later! wink

Merry Christmas everyone!

Nice vibe! I'd love to see something like this live somewhere. I'd go to that place a lot. Reminds me of The Green Door back in the 90s when it was all blues & jazz musicians all the time. Those were different times.

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 01/12/15 03:11 PM

Thank you TLTD!
Now there is a place in my town where the first Friday of every month a couple of friends and musicians meet us. Very cold beers and jam for about three hours. The most of times we forgot the lyrics, but it doesn't mind. This is Sultans of Swing played by me and some of my friends (sorry for the very bad english of my mate, loool blush ).

Re: Hi guys! I´m new here. - 09/25/15 02:10 PM

Hi again!

I recently discovered a band called Dawes. I love the sound of the guitars on "Right on time". I think is a Telecaster with a Vibrolux, isn´t it?.
I've created a preset trying to sound like them.

https://soundcloud.com/guitarrilia/eleven-rack-dawes-telecaster-preset

I'm going to shared it here named as "Dawes Telecaster".

I've made a video of the last weekend with my friends, bicking, trekking, drinking and eating, of course. wink
The music is mine, recorded very quickly with the Eleven Rack, my Tokai ALS48 and my awesome Sigma OMRC-28E acoustic. I used The SLO100 Clean sim with gain and volume at 10. Nice crunchy tone!!

I'm searching some "Dumble Overdrive" tones with the 11R and my Les Paul, something like Robben Ford or Allen Hinds sounds.
I like the "RB-01 Red" sim for this.

Hi friends!
This is a quick video about the building of my own Ibanez Andy Timmons Clone guitar.

It all started with a maple neck of an old Ibanez RX guitar. You can see images of the entire process up to the final result.
The audio is recorded with this guitar and my Eleven Rack.
I hope you like it. wink
