Eleven Rack factory presets...spot the artist?

Eleven Rack factory presets...spot the artist? - 02/06/10 06:09 AM

Here`s a tread just for fun.
Sometimes when I go trough the factory presets I find myself wondering why the preset is given it`s name
Here`s some examples I can drag out of the top of my head(sitting in the living room now and don`t have the ER beside me).

Sandstage - Enter Sandman, Metallica
Black Hat - Slash
Volcanic - Eruption, Van Halen
10 Cent Sack - Cowboys From Hell, Dimebag

If anybody have the full list then you can post it here so everybody can put in their contribution.
It could help people expand their musical horizon to, say you fall in love with a preset and can`t connect it to something...then maybe if it`s based on an artist their never heard before, it will help people to find new artists and idols...or maybe not.

It`s just for fun, some sort of guessing game. :-)

Here is a few that sounds right to me...

Saturation - Joe Satriani
Baby Pool - Nirvana
Swamp Sound - CCR (Born on the Bayou)
Jazz Funk - James Gang (Joe Walsh - Funk #49)
Browntown - EVH (Unchained)
And yeah, I think Sweet Open G is the Stones "Honky Tonk Woman"

There is a similar topic at digidesign's forum here:
11R presets Which is which?

Hey bro, a few of these that you listed were suggestions from someone for FUTURE presets, not one's that are ACTUALLY on the Eleven Rack. Those were...

New Orleans - The Hip
Sanstain - Santana
Whos that? - Pete Townsend
American Rose - Steve Vai
Hedstock - Hendrix at Woodstock
Blonde cop - Andy Summers

Re: Eleven Rack factory presets...spot the artist? - 02/13/10 11:00 AM

And for some other ideas for Future presets, I'd like ta see these...

Ah Via Tone - Eric Johnson
Building the Tone - Steve Vai
Dream Rig - John Petrucci
Scary Mob - George Lynch
Tube Grange - Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)
Decadence Onun - Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme)
More Than a City - Tom Scholz (Boston)
Master of Battery - OLD Metallica sound
Thrash Symphony - Megadeth
Shred Fest - Yngwie Malmsteen
Mr. Shred - Paul Gilbert

And is it me, but does "Subway God" sound more like Eric Clapton (Sunshine of Your Love), than RHCP??

Hello to all. I'm a recent ER owner and have just now joined Eleven Rack Presets.
I've been wondering about the origins of the various sounds and FX in Eleven Rack, and this thread answers most of my questions. Happy to get on board so early and looking forward to witnessing the site grow as well as availing myself of the resources. Also hope that I am able to contribute to someone else's use of ER as well.

I thought that Subway God was a reference to the "Clapton is God" graffiti that showed up in the subways

I was playing some old Clapton with the Subway God rig. I agree especially when you kick in the ts9. I was jamming some Blind Faith as well as Vintage Cream. It pretty much nails it

Has anyone posted a list of the specific amps modeled? I did a search and couldn't find it? I know some of the are obvious but to those of us who aren't well steeped in amp history maybe someone could just layout the specific models of amps and their 11rack name. Thanks for any help .

Hey There GoonBash,

Unless you are asking about the most recent amps included in the ERXP, fellow 11 racker (or is that rawker??), smfelton was kind enough to share this with us back in February, I hope it will be of some help:

Re: Eleven Rack factory presets...spot the artist? - 07/13/14 04:42 PM

Thought I'd bump this thread and say that I accidentally stumbled across the Black Hat preset and really love it. Someone mentioned in this thread (albeit 4 years ago!) that it reminded them of Slash.

I'm going to go in a different direction and say it reminds me of Larry Carlton's tone on Emotions Wound Us So. The clean can easily be achieved by rolling off the volume knob.

In my attempt to simplify my life (!) I've been using this preset as my go-to tone. The only adjustment I occasionally make is adjusting the delay to the tempo of the song.
