DIY Subkick test

DIY Subkick test - 10/17/16 11:36 AM

I had a friend send me some 6.5" woofers - one has a paper cone, one has a polypropylene cone. I thought'd be a fun test to compare the two. Have a listen to my samples below and let me know what you think. Also check out the pictures. Obviously the kick is mixed way up so hopefully you can hear (or feel) a difference.

Love your test Justin. I demoed Auto Align and it works quite well. I've been lining up my multiple kik samples manually with Eventide's Precision Align since it was less money. I have a 12' speaker I just got for my sub "mic". Looking forward to testing out.

They both do the job nicely but I prefer the polycone.

i like the Polypropylene Cone because it's sticks out in the mix better. yes, it's more rock/metal too, but i've used that tone even for churches and it ends up sounding great. good job Justin
