I was using my old Mackie 1604 (from the ADAT days)until it died.

Obviously it wouldn't work as a control surface, but it did allow me to mic things in stereo, which I couldn't do with 11R's one mic input. I also had grown accustomed to the mic preamps over several years.

I haven't fixed or replaced it, and the 11R's sole mic input has been suitable thus far.

I just got an enormous catalog from Musician's Friend (obviously imitating Sweetwater's model) and there are Presonus mixers that also act as interfaces, coming out. They aren't even on either retailer's web site yet.

They look nice, and affordable, so I will definitely be checking them out.

Live currently using drummer's Mackie 1604 but I'm looking to buy a Behringer XR12 as 4 mic preamp will be enough for our band as we all go direct and with v-drum.

The Behringer XR series are sweet! Ours has worked flawless and the ease/consistency of mix from show to show is so worth it.. Would prob be overkill for single home 11r use though..

May I ask what model that you are using? I'm undecided right now. Thanks

Our band uses a Behringer x-Air XR18 mixer for shows. At home if I need to run more inputs to the studio monitors on the computer I use a small Behringer xenyx 12-in mixer.

But most of the time I run the 11r into the computer with the usb (this is while the Apogee Duet 2 is plugged in as well)..

Behringer XR12 is $249 an WAY cheaper for home use than any other solutions if you want more than just you're 11R. Dual-compressor and 1-2 parametric eq cost more than the XR12 and you have 12 of them!!! Plus it sits on the floor like a snake.

How do I connect the 11 rack to a foh?

I use a Line 6 M20D for about 3yrs now it is pretty sweet but pricey the best thing is you can record all tracks and the main out at the same time without a computer ... it goes right on a SD card though you can connect a mac or pc and go in to PT or what ever if you wanted to.
I am currently helping a friend get an X18 (mixer style version) that I suggested he get ($200 cheaper and same features as the XR18) after his PMP5000 stopped working and I must say I would for sure go that rout today if I needed one, I really want one for our church.

My live mixer for the past 17 months or so is the Behringer XR18 (1st one sold in Canada, I believe). It's an amazing piece of kit and has transformed my setup and the way I do sound.

The best way to connect your 11R to FoH is a personal choice. Most of the time I used mine direct to the console and just put the signal into whatever monitor I was using. On occasion, when there's a drummer nearby, I run my sound into my Tech 21 Power Engine 60, monitor with that, and then take the XLR out from the Tech 21 direct to the console for FoH. At one gig I ran into both my Tech 21 and my Seymour Duncan 84-40, and again used the Power Engine output direct to FoH.

There are any number of ways to do it... it's a matter of preference, or whatever works best for your setup, I suppose.
