Blending Pedals/FX Loop

Is there any way to get a blended tone for bass using the eleven rack and a basic distortion pedal?

Every time I search for this I just get a bunch of threads with people saying to run distortion effects in front of the 11R. I get that, but that isn't what I want to do. What I imagined was placing the pedal in the 11R FX Loop and trying to blend it with my clean tone by adjusting the mix level. With regular old pedals you'd do this with a blend pedal so the distortion doesn't take over your signal.

If possible, where would I place the FX Loop block in the chain?

i think you can do it that way,i would put the loop before the amp/cab section,but you can easily experiment different postition
