downloaded the editor and moved it to applications as instructed, but now it tells me i need to get in touch with ilok. what is this all about? i am not well versed in computer stuff, so would appreciate any help given. thanks

The stand alone editor requires that you have iLok license manager installed. You don't need an iLok though.
