MKII warmer presets - 04/17/14 07:31 PM

ok, so i was playing around with my eleven rack tonight (after band practice was cancelled). i had a couple hours to listen to music and tweak presets. for some reason my ears were saying that too many presets have some type of high mid thing going that just doesn't sound like a real amp in the room. i know many of us have attempted to get that warm amp in the room sound, but i went for it again. the amp i was trying to duplicate was actually a rocktron prophesy preamp playing through some celestion G12T-75's (old ones).

the following presets are the results of my efforts:

i added them to the singtall superpack updates/fizz reduction/MII Warmer folder too (for you superpack users).

these presets need to be cranked up to be enjoyed. because they lack that bite that other presets have, you have to crank it up to the point where your ears hear it loud enough to perceive volume.

this is the tone i used live years ago. i really could crank it and not hurt anyone's ears. i was the only guitar player, so i didn't have to worry about cutting through the mix.

try the presets and let me know how they work for you.

Ross do you have some rigs based on the J45 amps in your superpack?

I have all my presets dialed when going poweramp/4x12 cab. I'm just looking for some when going to PA and I'm currently missing a J45-base preset for blues.
I will get the superpack and check what you available first. Maybe with the presets in the superpack I will go frfr and sell my amp/cab.

Thanks a lot.

i stopped using cabinets a couple years ago myself. i have piles of presets that are made for full range cabinets.

i will work up some J45 presets specifically for blues and add them to the pack asap. thanks for the request.

Re: MKII warmer presets - 04/21/14 07:09 PM

i just made 8 JTM45 lead presets, and i have to say that amp model is cooler than i remember. very touch sensitive.

i based the first preset off a video of Joe Bonamassa playing a reissue amp, the rest are different cab/mic variations.

try the grey compressor as a boost...way cool sustain.

adding the presets to the superpack/low gain folder now. allow a few minutes to finish uploading.
