As I understand it, the 11R automatically senses the impedance of the guitar/bass that is connected.

Does it sense the impedance on an ongoing basis? I.e., if I change the pick-up selection or do something else that changes the impedance, will it update this evaluation periodically or in realtime?

Not sure, sorry, but make sure your Z setting is on Auto if you want it to automatically sense it.
