I was just listening through some reposts not knowing what amps or modelers were being used and thought this was some excellent tone. Decided to try this amp sim for myself. It's fairly cheap, 14 day trial.

First, you wont need an overdrive sim or any effects to appreciate it. With my preferred IR, I could already tell there was something different here. Kazrog did a good job of creating speaker breakup with their ReCabinet software, and had a lot of big name presets for it combining cabinets/EQs,etc. So I'm not surprised this is a decent amp simulator with a little something special others don't seem to have in the VST world.

The dynamics are there, the mutes are there, there's this tight sound you can dial up for Djenting. I haven't gotten around to much besides the HB100 amp, that was the one that made me take notice. There are amp packs of all types. I'm focused on just this one for now.

I would guess the cons are the usual, CPU load, portability, Axe FX quality effects plugins like the Eventide ones aren't cheap, the usual VST suspects. But I'm pretty impressed. There's so many amp sims that this one flew under the radar. But it's great.

For maybe the first time, I noticed while playing over some drums, it fit so perfectly in the mix even with my picky ears the raw sound had a tiny bit of fizz happening that I was worried about, but it's the perfect fizz.

These are pretty much all the amps I like so far, coincidentally.

Liking this 5150 amp model with my Maxon OD808 and just a touch of plate reverb. Very Eleven Rack like. Was kinda worried I wouldn't ever get these kinds of sounds again since my son's using the Eleven Rack all the time now.

Tried the 5150III again today and am getting better sound and feel than using the overdrive paired with an amp model. That's one thing I like a lot about this software and you'll notice right away. I just thought lower gain with an overdrive pedal sounded better at first, but you can do even better than that with some amp models.

Once you get your preferred amp IR, EQ the way you like, goto reverbs and stuff, you'll be playing a lot more than tweaking, and wondering if you should sell some of your gear haha.

Going through some cabinets, I shut off the cab IR loader and wondered if I could just create a cab sim with some compression/EQs, and doubling to see if the results may work in mutlitracking because sometimes you can never tell what you're going to need. It's rare that an amp sim could generate a preamp sound that you could shape this way. Most VSTs rely on the cabinet way too much and always have some kind of plastic fuzz in there.

I was of course, able to play without cabinets on the Eleven Rack also.

Interesting trying combining pres from one amp with the power amp and settings on another one (with the pre shut off).
