Those discovering the power of IRs, I have a small gift for you :

These are IRs I converted to 48 khz/24 bits mono to be able to use them in my Amplifire. Some of from the Kemper, some are popular free IRs like GuitarHack "ThisOne", and a few of them are tweaks I made to ASEM Recto, another popular free IR. Most are for high gain sounds, a few are for boutique amps of the Two Rock or Dumble family. I don't guarantee that they would work in the Helix, but they should. Let me know if they do !

Dude, thank you so much. These are perfect for Eleven Rack. They have a great feel and thickness with some good presence also. Not like anything I have tried before. I can use a lot more presets with these and they maintain this "color" throughout. Should make for some great mixes.

That ASEM RECTO 2 (7) one is KILLER for riffs and all kinds of stuff. The original is great for solos to go over that one. Those are my favorite right now.

Go check out the video of this guy made of him using the cab lab which is I guess a part of having the axefxll system it will blow your mind what he sits there and does over a few minutes. And real time hearing the difference he has a loop playing before all the effects in his preset so that he can just sit there and mess with the IR mixing it is pretty cool it makes you want to have an ax FX just to have this little jewel of the program we need to see if Ross will make a few nice IR's for us since he has to axe FX now

That kinda stuff is why I wish I had an Axe FX sometimes.

i have an IR that Fremen made 4 years ago that i still use as my main go-to cabinet.

now that i have the atomic amplifire the axe-fx II is getting less and less time. the amplifire is basically the same thing under the hood, minus some of the effects ability...but tonally it's the same or better.

next step is the amplifire in the eleven rack effects loop. think about it; a cabinet loader, plus a bunch of amp models that the 11R doesn't have....and the ability to use the 11r as an effects unit and interface.

the atomic amplifire is the best $599 i've spent on gear.

some more free ones but I am not going to use the program (afraid to install it)

I am about to buy the red wires "big box pack" it comes with MixIR2 free... it's 125 bucks and you can mix irs like the cab lab and export it in a sing ir

it was not poping up so here is a link

wouldn't mind trying that 1 out.....

as for the rest of what you said.... WOW does the amplfire have the same DSP CPU's as the axefx II?

I know X-man took his Helix back but I am having a ball with mine. I like being able to load 128 IR's and use the one I want with any preset and multiple amps (this is good for lead boosts by making ones master volume a little higher and one foot switch can swap between amps) and distortions or what ever and I can swap multiple ones with one foot switch (one preset I have 6 fx's one one switch)

I hadn't thought about it that way. Having it in the FX loop would allow me to essentially run the same patches with a completely overhauled amp/cabinet choice. I'd like to hear this in action sometime, it certainly affects the "quality" of the effects to use different amps/preamps/overdrives with 11R. Plus you do have some chorus effects and things in the Amplifire if you prefer those also, right?
