Hi,

Watching this tutorial

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDaJ9cfRYwM&index=41&list=WL

the Axe FX II Vibroverb seems to have lots of gain, compared to Eleven Rack's 64 Black Vib.

I have an AmSt stock Telecaster, and I can't get the same amount of crunch from the Vibroverb without a booster, even putting volume control at 10.

Is it a Stratocaster thing (used on the tutorial), or the Eleven's Vibroverb model has less gain compared to Axe's?

The Eleven Rack user guide tells the 64 Black Vib is "easy-to-overdrive" but without a boost it seems it's not the case…

thanks for any comments!

I miss my Maxon OD808 sometimes because I could get that fuzzy SRV drive by turning the tone knob far left and use it with an Eleven Rack amp and sound a lot like that. Sometimes you can use the M2Lead amp to get those kind of sounds if you change the true z input to 90 or something to clean it up.

I get a small amount of breakup with a tele, but not a lot of crunch. Not that far off from his starting tone (amp/cab only). The axefx has the master volume cranked and then an extra gain trim that the 11R doesn't have (and the amp either I suspect).

With the green OD you can get similar gain (I think) to what he has with the tubescreamer model.

Add an eq block in front of that for even more gain.

Thank! The M2Lead amp is a model I never use. I'll try your true Z suggestion!

I have a Digitech Bad Monkey and will try that too with the vibroverb model.

Thanks! Yes, maybe an eq in front of the amp may give some gain, as the Ax trim!

Instead of green od I used the white boost, with lots of treble. It sounds similar to the Axe tone.
