Hi folks, I ended up getting a Logidy ESPI-C for Christmas. I also got a mbox 3 4X4. Now I'm in the middle of hooking everything up. I've noticed one thing in the 11R User's Guide (80930) that has me a bit perplexed. On page #11, the FX Send and Return jacks are defined as being TRS. I've been going along the line of thinking that these were TS. I'm pretty sure that either/both of my noise pedals have been TS. The FX loop of my GT-100 is also TS.

So, are you guys hooking the Logidy up using TRS (2 rings, balanced), or TS (unbalanced instrument, like a regular guitar cable)?

Yeah, if one side is TS you have to use TS to get the best results, if using TS you shouldn't have noise issues if the cables are less than 25ft each.

you know this is interesting because I didn't mentioned in my other post that I am using 2 TRS cables for the FX send from the 11 rack to the Epsi... I wonder if that may be causing some of my issues?

I've had instances where using a TRS on a TS connector actually caused me an issue. I don't recall what it was exactly that I was connecting to and from, but do remember getting PO'd until I switched cables. It was noise issues, too. Worth a shot.

Regardless of what's on the 11R side: if the other side of the connection is non symmetrical, this will automatically "convert" the entire connection to being unsymmetrical. The EPSi doesn't have symmetrical jacks, so the cable connection becomes unsymmetrical anyway. But as long as your cables aren't defect and ground is properly handled you should not have issues whatsoever. Usually it is recommended not to run too long cables if they're not symmetrical but this becomes less important the higher the signal level is. For mics it's very critical, for all instrument levels it can almost be neglected.
The output level of the fx loop of the 11r is definitely high enough to run quite long asymmetrical cables without getting issues.
