Recently I've read a lot about how audio units can be improved by using different interfaces (i.e. better converters). These would often be a weak point in modelers or amp simulators. I was wondering if anybody ever tried that with the 11R? Does it sound better through high quality audio interfaces? Since it has digital inputs it might be possible to replace the 11R's internal converters with better ones from an external interface. Any experiences with that anywhere?

I think maybe it's a problem already that the Eleven Rack delivers things in such high quality haha There's probably some interfaces that are better for recording external sources and with lower latency, but I don't think that'll help recording the Eleven Rack.

What some of us have found useful is upgrading the guitar cables to Magami, which is almost like noise shielding your guitar & helps the signal a lot. I just use cheap cables now that I have the Logidy EPSi though, btw.

The plus side of running through a different interface, as I have always wanted to try; is that you could record with a lot of plugins going on your DAW & have the option to use IR loaders for tracking. The Eleven Rack can only do so much, then your DAW can't keep up. Having used an Echo Gina 3G in the past, I don't think I could ever overload it. I can all kinds of plugins and impulses going and recorded in real time. It was hard to get used to the Eleven Rack's interface.

With the Logidy EPSi, I feel like it took care of the need to try this. I've got a few projects on my to do list. There are some really nice reverb impulses out there & I want to make some impulses with some different rooms and play around with multiple cabinets and try some things I haven't yet, just to see. One is to make impulses of the Eleven Rack cabinets and combine them into on impulse with an Ownhamer on the left/Eleven on the right or vice versa. I can't praise this thing enough in being the single most important upgrade for your Eleven Rack. I just got into tone matching and it's so close to the real thing now. That's kind of the goal, right? And you wont get a better interface for that price range, it will probably be about the same kinda thing.

BUT...a different interface could allow higher quality impulses, better latency while tracking, tons of plugins, conversion, S/N might be slightly better.
