These are both $5 right now, thinking about getting one or both to get back into playing once in a while. Assuming that both have updated themselves into something rivaling the Eleven Rack (haha), but at least everyone knows what they're capable of now. Looks like desktop versions are being planned also.

Damn, BIAS is for iPhone 5 & I only got 4 RN, so going with Jamup for now. Cool stuff though, especially the desktop tone matching stuff coming later.

I have both on an iPad 4th gen it works great but the problem with it is the same with all things to do with apple... all things that you need are over priced, over rated and limited in there functions so that you need more things to make your other thing work like they should from the get-go... it a viscous cycle that will have you spending to much money.

I have the line 6 sonic port, it works off the lightening port (better sound quality [24/48] from 30 pin or lightening port vs the headphone jack that I have heard can get loose from having an interface plugged in and giving undo stress) it has 1/4" and 1/8" inputs and outputs but no midi and no way to charge the ipad wile it's in use so then you need a way to change presets and a blue tooth page turner works but who wants to spend $150 on that as well... that's my 2 cents, however I know Marc has found something that works for him and he has moved on to that from the 11r.

As Christopher highlighted, the above thread covers a lot of ground in the iOS area.

For me, it's not a question of Bias or JamUp. They are two different things. You create your basic tone in Bias then export that amp to JamUp, where it will be added to the signal chain, along with any effects you'd like.

Jim is correct, though; stuff for iOS is pricey, even if the software isn't. But if you're looking to save a little money from the start you could try an iPod touch (5th gen) rather than an iPhone or iPad. I picked one up a few weeks ago, new, for around $200. It works just as well with JamUp as either of my Ipad Minis (one retina, the other a 1st gen.). Something to consider...

Nice, thanks for the thread & info. I already need a newer iPhone because it wont run BIAS, but I ordered the Positive Grid JamUP Plug for $20 and got the Jamup XT Pro for $5, so only $25 invested for now.

oooooooooo.... I wouldn't use the JamUp glug unless it was the HD model - and I can't imagine you could get one of those for $20.

The issue is that any interface that plugs into the headphone jack just doesn't sound as good as through the Lightning port. Also, it's noisier and (especially in a live situation) is FAR more prone to feedback.

I know the other interfaces are pricier but, trust me, you will not regret having spent the extra $$$. If a simple 'guitar in' is all you need, there's a price drop on Sweetwater right now for the iRig HD - it's at $79.00. The iRiG Pro (which has MIDI and a combi XLR / 1/4" input) is down (temporarily, I think) to $129.00.
