Is there a question about RedWirez or were you just posting Benoni's video?

I have the RedWirez BigBox bundle, and there are a LOT of IRs to choose from. With the MixIR2 that comes with the BigBox you can also combine and mix Irs, AND you can export them to use with Epsi if you want.

Yes actually I was getting ready to jump in and buy the whole big box thing because I figured it was a good deal for 125 bucks is probably more IR's than I could possibly ever use but I really like the mix feature it's similar to the one that is with the AXE FX Called cab lab I like the idea of being able to do IR mixing on the fly and then being able to export it into one IR... If I had of known about this earlier I probably would've done it before but I just found out about it.

I got that big box thing and you really are better off with these Ownhammer IRs my friend. http://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=157&products_id=353

Better off? Kind of subjective, I think. Why better off?

I have not been impressed with the Ownhammer in my particular application, but that is my subjective opinion. Not that they are BAD, but in my opinion, no better.

Research and choose what sounds best to you.

I have the ownhammer Modern pack and they're OK. But those keeper cabs I found do sound better.

So what about the IRMIX2 program???

Maybe I didn't understand that the Big Box is updated now with better IRs, but that was a pretty old pack with a few good IRs and mixIR is cool and the 1073 IR is cool. I just found it to be a lot of extra stuff and nothing mix ready or blended together for any purpose. You have to do all that on your own, after a lot of time sifting through IRs.

It's all subjective perhaps, but you get a lot of preblended ones in that pack I listed for $50. It's much better quality than the Modern Studio Mix, and the v3 IRs that were pretty bad for Eleven Rack users IMHO (but also reminded me a lot of the Redwirez stuff/lots of tweaking would be needed for MY taste).

The manual is excellent also. They have tips for using real amps (these are EQ'd for modelers and they really nailed it this time for us who use the Line 6, Eleven Rack, TSEx50, etc). The use of mic blending to achieve the signature artist/genre sounds, you would have to do a lot of research to achieve that. That's fun, but I just couldn't nail the sound and feel after all the time I spent trying that.

That's where I think Redwirez is still pretty cool because you can look for all of your individual mics and blend/EQ it in MixIR. For me the Ownhammers were at one time about the same kinda thing, maybe with a different feel though. But now, they're at that point I would say you owe it to yourself to check out.

But, here from the Ownhammer manual.

Quote:
THE MIXES

HG
The High Gain mix is the most forward, focused, and direct sounding of the three OwnHammer pre-made mixes.
For most speaker types this combines DYN + RBN or DYN 1 + DYN 2 depending on the available options, with some
exceptions.
This mix pairs excellently with high output humbuckers and high gain amps.

MG
The Mid Gain mix is slightly more open, softer, and midrange dominant than the HG mix, but more direct sounding
than the LG mix. For most speaker types this combines DYN + RBN + CND + ROOM or DYN 1 + DYN 2 + RBN +
ROOM depending on the available options, with some exceptions.
This Mix pairs excellently with medium output humbuckers/P90’s and mid gain amps.

LG
The Low Gain mix is the softest, darkest, and most intimate of the three OwnHammer pre-made mixes. For most
speaker types this combines DYN + RBN + REAR + ROOM or DYN 1 + DYN 2 + REAR + ROOM depending on the
available options, with some exceptions.
This Mix pairs excellently with low output P90’s/single coils and low gain amps.

SP1
The Scott Peterson mix - version 1 - was originally conceived for the OwnHammer Studio Mix Libraries and very
well received among users of many platforms. The same mic type and level recipe makes its return here.

SP2
The Scott Peterson mix - version 2 - has been voiced from and formulated specifically for the OwnHammer MultiSpeaker Collection libraries. This mix excels in providing general purpose mix fantastic for both studio and live use.

I wish there was an Eleven Rack version of this, but I initially liked what I was hearing in this video, but wasn't "sold" until I was pleasantly surprised by the actual product with Eleven Rack.

I also think it's good to try out what's out there, and leave things open. I've made impulses from older IRs and tweaked them to perfection for reamping DIs from the Andy Sneap forums just using TSEx50 and threw them in the EPSi thinking they'd work for Eleven Rack and the feel was just dead & lifeless, so you never know. They were made from the very first Ownhammer pack I bought a while back and sounded great in mixes with some EQing, but those IRs were pretty much the same thing that's in Eleven Rack and so were the Redwirez. Sometimes I would blend them in mixes and get some cool sounds, but I needed the Eleven Rack cabs on.

Just thought I should chime in because I spent soooo much time with the Redwirez and Ownhammer impulses from the very beginning. The reason I bought the Eleven Rack was to use it as a cab sim for a Mesa Boogie preamp so do away with VST cabinet loaders and latency. NOW, we have a way to load even more cabinets and it's Heaven. I'd love to try out any blended impulses you come up with from the Redwirez, I just don't feel like going back and spending more time when I'm pretty happy with the latest Ownhammer selection. For the first time, I didn't feel like I had to make presets from scratch, I found myself shutting off a lot of EQs. So this multispeaker pack will be GREAT for beginners who just want to load up an IR, turn your amp knobs and get something. smile

I guess I'm just kind of psyched about the MixIR2 program and I figured what the heck might as well get a ton of IR's along with it. I'll make sure to pass on anything of use to you brother.

but some of that free stuff that we have found recently has been pretty dang good.

that last link I posted has some pretty awesome ones in it some with more low-end then I have ever heard from and IR.
