I am in the process of getting together with a cover band. I've been using my other rig so far (Digitech RP360XP/Torpedo CAB/L6 M9). However, I just got a 4u rack mount mixer and a 8u rack case. I put the mixer, a power conditioner and my 11R in the case. It would be REALLY easy for me to use just the 11R with that group. I would like to make use of the 11R wah in this instance.

My question is this - with the 1010 can I activate the wah by stepping on one of the expression pedals, just like a "real wah" activation? I have a MidiMate right now and am thinking the 1010 may be the right solution (with an appropriate chip) to make that work.

Thoughts?

I'm not an expert, but I don't know of a way to 'auto-on' the wah like that. Using an Uno chip in stompbox mode, I have to stomp my Wah button first (for convenience/button-saving I also have it activate the volume pedal as well), before I can wah away.

Again, this doesn't mean it can't be done, I just haven't found out how if it can.

Thanks for the input/feedback - most appreciative. It still is likely the right solution for me. I was just hoping for a more tradition "wah activation" like you'd get on a Cry Baby/etc. Regardless - I'd get the same functionality I have with my MidiMate plus the expression pedals to be able to use a wah, even if not in the most desired way.

Dmock66 Check some of my previous posts on this subject (or Google FCB1010 wah mod) there is a mod that can be done to the FCB1010 to achieve this if you really need it.

LOL... turns out I've asked this exact question before! Man, getting old is a b@tch!!! LOL!!!

Now it's all coming back. I recall seeing that mod. I don't know that it's THAT important to me. I don't use a wah THAT much. It is nice to be able to just step activate - but I can live with the functionality as is rather than making the mod. Maybe sometime I'll think differently - but can live with it for now.
