I just want to get the expression pedals on the 1010 so that I can do volume and/or wah on certain rigs. Not worried about stompboxes and all that...just want the expression pedals to work properly.

Help??

Yahoo FCB1010 group has a sysex file for the stock FCB1010 and for the UNO modded FCB1010 for the 11R.

FCB1010 has been discussed at length over at the Avid DUC. Here's a link to one of the threads.

OK...now I am totally baffled after reading through all of that.

I'm no computer whiz by any stretch, but I find it hard to believe that you have to basically reprogram the whole danged pedalboard just to be able to get the expression pedals to work. I tried to download some of the stuff that was on the links, but I might as well have been downloading Russian nuclear codes written in Portuguese. I have no idea what to do with these programs.

I don't want the UNO chip. Have no interest in making stompboxes work. I want to be able to select my rigs and make the expression pedals work. Period, end of story.

Is there a way to simply connect the pedal and tell the 11R the 'right' kind of pedal to look for, do the calibration heel/toe, and run with it? Or am I going to have to find a 16 year old computer nerd to help me figure this out? Or should I throw this thing in the river and start over?

The Uno chip is approx $10. and makes life alot easier. What it does is basically fix alot of bugs in the original Behringer eprom. Good luck trying to program the fcb1010 without it. I have read many horror stories of guys pulling their hair out for months trying to get it to work to no avail. Once installed it's relatively easy to get things up and running. Install the chip, get ripwerks running on pc, connect the midi cables, get ripwerks to recognize the fcb1010, upload Benoni's sysex file to the fcb1010, calibrate expression pedals and your done. Yes there is a bit more to it but thats about it. Yes it is totally your choice to get the Uno or not, I'm just saying it helps alot imo.

All I am interested in doing is banking up and/or down to access my presets and to use the expression pedals. That's it. Don't care about stompboxes and all that...and from what I can tell the chip's main advantage is to make the 1010 into a two-tiered unit, the lower bank pedals control your preset selection and the top bank pedals for stompbox use. Is there something about the chip that I am missing otherwise??

Hey Man, that reply has me doing a belly laugh man, I'm gasping for air here; I'm going thru the same thing, but with a different pedal board and you comment NAILS it EXACTLY!!!!!

You have given me an idea tho, I think I'll delete the User Guide that I have in English and download the Russian version, that way I can not only learn how to program my pedal board but also learn a new language too! LOL, WOOOOOOOHOOOOO

Good Luck in you quest man.
