i have been asked this many times, and i keep intending on making a video to cover how-to do some things, but it hasn't happened yet. so i thought it would good to throw this info out here on the interweb for everyone to see.

normally, i would setup a post-amp parametric eq this way:

1) high pass shelf at 130-180hz, cut from 6-11db depending on the amp model.

2) low mid bump at 275-400hz, maybe 1-4db. adds that nice woody room tone. Q at about 4.

3) notch at 4.3-4.6khz to cut the harshness down. set the Q between 6-8 as a starting point, but don't be afraid to go higher or lower if needed.

4) low pass shelf at 5k-8k to cut any remaining fizziness (if needed). maybe 3-6db cut.

this is a starting point, not a general rule. i would start from there and tweak as needed.

the point of this eq setting is to give me an in-the-room tone without any harshness.

get your mids sounding right first, then the lows, and finally the highs. once you turn the highs up, you ears won't hear things the same way and you will get ear fried long before you perfect your tone.

these settings will benefit the high gain amp users the most. many high gain amps sound fizzy. low gain amps tend to sound just fine with a little extra high end.

use your ears and find your tone.

I'll have to try ur settings when I build my higher gain patches. I just got the 11r. I've been using a pod hd500. For moderm country covers it's been ok with a LOT of tweaking, but for my originals I couldn't emulate my early 70's 50w Marshall. Never thought it would be that hard.. Strat + phase 100 + dirt pedal + delay + Marshall + mesa 4x12 v30's + sm57.... I nailed it in 30 minutes with eleven... Spent many frustrating hours with my pod...

Interesting to see other peoples' work flows. I often-

- High pass somewhere 70-150 with the HP12 and higher so I can use the Q to dial in the resonance

- Boost around 200 if I need body or scoop around 250-400 if I want to clean up the low mids

- Boost around 700-1.1k to increase the 'cut', frequency depends on the amp/cab/mic

- Cut around 3-5k to control the fizz using the peak so as not to lose the highs.

I'll give your ideas a try!
