Hey guys,

I'm auditioning for a music program in my college, so I plan on performing in live situations quite a bit in the near future. I have an eleven rack, but I wanted to get a power amp and a cab so that I can use the eleven rack to perform live with.

I've recently picked up a PRS 100-watt 2x12 cab, so all I need now is a power amp to power it. I have a few in mind, but I just wanted to make sure that everything will be compatible with each other before I purchase. If they aren't compatible, could anyone recommend a power amp for me? Keep in mind that I am a broke college student on an incredibly limited budget.

The ones I had in mind were:

Crown XLI800:

Crown XLS1000:

Thanks!

Well, the XL1800 is 25 lbs... so that would rule it out for me as I already have enough heavy stuff to carry. The XLS1000, being Class D, is only 9 lbs. The whole digital amplification thing is moving along by leaps and bounds. The only question I would have is one of reliability... I've read on a couple of forums about problems with the build quality and reliability of some of these. That said, Crown is a company with a reputation for solid, tough products and I don't imagine they'd want to spoil that with sub-par quality gear.
