Pickup Position: Middle
Pickup Type: Single Coil
Artist: John Mayer Comments: This is a nice and versatile blues sound: '64 Lux Normal amp model, Spring Reverb, 2x12 Black Duo cab mic'd off-axis with Dyn 57. With singles, it is clean with maybe a bit of hair and some light reverb (just increase volume to about 8 for more hair.) To get John Mayer "Good Love Is On the Way," punch in the Green JRC OD pedal (off by default) and use middle pickup. Using Humbuckers (tested with SD Jazz/59) there is some nice wooley distortion on the neck position. Using the bridge, you can get pretty close to the Hollies "Long Cool Women (in a Black Dress)." I hope you enjoy. |

Pickup Position: Bridge
Pickup Type: Humbucker
Artist: DevilDriver/ Randall RM100 Grail Comments: Tone based on the newest DevilDriver cd, Pray For Villians. They use to use Mesa's, now they use Randall's. So this tone is based on the Randall RM100 with the GRAIL modual, which is the one they use most. Used a ESP LTD VIPER 500 with EMG's, 81 in the Bridge. Drop B. Treadplate. 4X12 Classic 30. DYN 7 off Axis. FX2=EQ. Touch of reverb for more width. |

Pickup Position: Bridge
Pickup Type: Humbucker
Artist: Diezel Herbert amp. Comments: Modeled after tone samples from the Diezel website. Super Heavy amp, sort of Similar to the Bogner Uberschall, yet differant. Diezel - Herbert As explained on the Diezel website, The main difference from the VH4 models are in voicing, circuit design, and general layout. Overall the Herbert has a more familiar, slightly looser feel than the VH4, without losing much of the Diezel signature definition and tightness. Simply put, the amp is a player's amp, forgiving and ready for whatever one's soul and mood desires. So checkout the VH4 model I have posted as well, it has less gain and less bass, with more mids. Diezel - Herbert Treadplate Modern. Green distortion. FX1=EQ FX2=EQ Reverb. 87 Mic off Axis |
